The Tiroler Festspiele Erl’s Successful 2026 Summer Season Attracted 13,500 Attendees
The second summer season of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl under Artistic Director Jonas Kaufmann can be considered a tremendous success. A total of 13,500 attendees were welcomed to opera productions, orchestral concerts, piano recitals, a reading accompanied by music, a film night with live music, and a musical-acrobatic project. Overall attendance for all events rose to 85 percent (up from 79 percent the previous year).

A Well-Deserved Success for "We Are The Lucky Ones"
The audience celebrated the Austrian premiere of Philip Venables’ opera with a long, standing ovation. After 100 uninterrupted minutes, the premiere audience was deeply moved. The Münchner Merkur summed up the mood perfectly: “Anyone who wasn’t there missed out.”

Hans Peter Haselsteiner will remain president of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl for another five years. At its meeting on July 3, 2026, the Advisory Board of the Tyrolean Festival Erl Nonprofit Private Foundation voted unanimously to extend his term of office until mid-2031.
